COMMUNICATION REPAIR STRATEGIES
The students read a dialogue where a communication breakdown occurs, and they work in pairs to come up with strategies to repair the breakdown. In this clip, they share the strategies that they have discussed in a whole-class discussion.
REPAIRING A COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN

STUDENT PRESENTERS
In this activity, the students write phrases of agreeing and disagreeing within groups of three. Then they present the expressions to their classmates. The teacher acts as a facilitator and jumps in for further explorations, explanations, examples, and questions.
DISCUSSION OF CONTEMPORARY ISSUES
In the video clip below, the teacher asks students a thought-provoking question to lead them into talking about and reacting to a current event.
ROLE PLAY FOR AN ASSESSMENT
According to the curriculum for Intermediate Conversation Class, the objectives of unit 1 are choosing relevant and appropriate topics, starting the conversation naturally, keeping the conversation going actively, and ending the conversation smoothly.
